DARK SPOT REMOVAL

Erasing Damage & Scars

If you burn through concealer sticks and have an arsenal of dark spot treatments cluttering up your bathroom drawers, it may be time to get serious about dark spot removal treatment.

Uneven skin tone is one thing, but dark spots are more intense areas of pigment. Dark spots can last for months and may not respond to over-the-counter treatments.

From topical creams to lasers to power peels, new treatments can effectively improve or remove dark spots. They are especially effective when used together.

What Causes Dark Spots?

Many conditions can cause dark spots, patches and scarring:

  • Acne scars

  • Age spots

  • Melasma

  • Psoriasis

  • Skin injury

  • Medication

  • Reaction to hair and skincare products

  • Sun damage

Your risk of developing dark spots can depend on heredity, age and sun exposure.

At times it may be difficult for you to differentiate one type of dark spot from another. For example, sun damage and melasma may look similar, but stem from different causes and respond to different treatments. A consultation with the expert team at Harmony Healing can determine your condition and treatment. We’ll also work with you to avoid a recurrence of your dark spots.

Dark Spot Removal Treatment OPTIONS:

Halo™ is one of the most effective treatments for dark spots. This hybrid fractional laser delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to microscopic areas of the skin. Halo™ treats a wide range of skin tones and cosmetic concerns. However, a personal consultation is the best way to determine if Halo™ is right for your skin and goals. In the week after Halo™ treatment, you’ll notice overall improved tone and fading spots. Final results appear after six to eight weeks. Because it is customizable, targeted and non-invasive, Halo™ can be repeated to maintain or boost your results.

The MicroLaserPeel precisely ablates, or burns away, the outermost layers of the skin. The treatment can be customized for different skin issues. The scarred and marked top layers of skin peel away to reveal fresh, younger-looking skin beneath.

BroadBand Light, or BBL™, uses short bursts of high-intensity light to stimulate new cell and collagen growth. This new tissue growth creates firmer skin with more even tone. BBL™ penetrates to the deeper skin layers topical products can’t reach. The light energy targets and destroys cells with darker pigment beneath the skin's surface for long-term results. Once the skin has healed, the treated dark spots will not reappear. You’ll notice significant changes in your skin about a week after your treatment. Areas of sun damage, age spots and pigmented scarring will lighten and disappear. A program of repeated treatments over a few months will produce optimal results.

Chemical peels use acid solutions to treat the outer layer of skin. Varying strengths of acid are used for superficial, medium, and deep peels. Depending on the type of dark spots you have, we determine which type of peel will be the most effective.

Microdermabrasion uses a rapid stream of particles to exfoliate the surface of the skin. By sweeping away dead skin cells, the treatment creates more even texture and tone. Microdermabrasion also triggers collagen production and new cell growth in the deeper layers of skin. Dark spots near the surface are improved, and new layers come to the surface for healthier-looking skin.
