WRINKLES
How to find the best treatment:
Everyone ages differently, which is why the best treatment for wrinkles varies from person to person. Wrinkles and fine lines can form for many reasons, therefore identifying the root cause of your wrinkles is an important part of treating them. Men and women of any age can develop fine lines and wrinkles as a result of factors ranging from environmental aggressors to genetics. At Harmony Healing, we offer a wide range of wrinkle treatments for our patients that are personalized to address your specific type of fine lines or wrinkles and help you achieve the skin you desire.
The Underlying Cause of Wrinkles
Sun exposure is the most common culprit behind wrinkle development, particularly for fair-skinned people. Other major contributors to fine lines and wrinkles are environmental pollutants, dry climates, dehydration and smoking. One fact is certain: wrinkles are caused by unavoidable factors of life, such as repeated facial expressions (such as smiling or squinting), aging and exposure to sunlight. Rather than trying to limit your lifestyle to reduce the chances of developing wrinkles, there are ways to slow the development of future wrinkles and soften the appearance of current ones with support from your cosmetic team at Harmony Healing.

Wrinkle Treatment OPTIONS:
Injectables and dermal fillers are often the best treatment for wrinkles that provide immediate results that will improve over time. Depending on the type of look you want to achieve, a combination of injectables including neuromodulators (like BOTOX®) and fillers (like Juvéderm®) may be used. In addition to softening wrinkles, injectables and dermal fillers can be used to create a more refreshed appearance by subtly lifting brows or enhancing the lips. Natural-looking results are always our goal—we never want our patients to look as if they have been cosmetically altered. BOTOX® DYSPORT® DERMAL FILLERS
A dull, sallow appearance of the skin can be instantly revived with microdermabrasion. A non-chemical and noninvasive procedure to naturally and evenly exfoliate the skin, microdermabrasion removes surface debris of the skin and promotes healthy, new collagen production. It is an excellent adjunct treatment for other wrinkle-reducing therapies and is also a wise choice for routine healthy skin maintenance.
ProFractionalâ„¢ laser treatments achieve astounding resurfacing results with customizable downtime. This type of laser ablates narrow-diameter channels into the skin rather than removing an entire surface area. The untreated skin around each channel will have increased fibroblast activity, triggering new collagen production. Because the laser only affects a small fraction of the treated area overall, the risks of infection and scarring are less than the risks associated with total laser resurfacing.
For patients desiring firmer, smoother, more evenly toned and younger-looking skin, SkinTyteâ„¢ is a worthwhile laser treatment that works to firm up soft tissues. It provides results by delivering intense light energy in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses beneath the skin to heat dermal collagen. This creates a strengthened collagen foundation which results in firmer skin. SkinTyteâ„¢ also promotes collagen production over time, meaning your results continue to improve long after your treatment.
Laser skin resurfacing can lessen the appearance of wrinkles and other skin blemishes while creating firmer, younger-looking skin. It resurfaces the outermost layer of skin which smooths over fine lines, dry patches and mild discolorations while also penetrating to deeper layers of the skin to trigger new collagen growth. Results of laser skin resurfacing are often immediate and can further develop over time.
PRP therapy is a unique wrinkle treatment that uses your body’s own rich nutrients to nourish the skin. Platelets from your own blood (a natural source of growth factors) are harvested and then delivered back into the skin through microneedling. Your PRP allows for a greater release of growth factors and biologically active proteins, which activate wound-healing processes in the skin, including collagen production.

PHOTOREJUVENATION
Harnessing the power of high energy light waves is a specialty of ours at Harmony Healing. In particular, we often recommend three treatments that work similarly to reduce wrinkles: IPL™ (intense pulsed light), BBL™ (broadband light) and photorejuvenation therapies. IPL can be used in photofacial treatments to target damaged tissues and encourage new cell growth and collagen production beneath the skin’s surface without harming the top layer. It can be used to treat the hands, neck, chest or other areas of the body where sun damage has occurred. BBL™ works similarly in that it also uses light energy to stimulate the growth of new collagen. It is beneficial to patients with loose, sagging skin because it results in increased tissue tightening by delivering heat below the skin’s surface. Photorejuvenation seeks out cells with darker pigment, like sun-damaged tissues and broken blood vessels, and destroys the discoloration while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. HALOâ„¢ is a Hybrid Fractional Laser that treats wrinkles by inducing a wound healing response from your body, resulting in smoother skin. As the only hybrid fractional laser of its kind, it is extremely tunable to best treat fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots and more because it delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. This dual-wavelength approach to wrinkle treatment means that you are able to enjoy the dramatic results of a traditional fractional laser without the same amount of downtime. Many patients achieve their desired results in only one or two sessions.
